KJV Rev 12: 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth,he persecuted the
woman which brought forth the man child.14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great
eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and
times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
In verse 13, the Greek reads " ...which brought forth the man (arsena), the word"child" is not in
the Greek text. She brought forth the "man" whosecommissionshall be the same as Christ's :
1John 3:8 ... For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of
the devil.
I cannot perceive the man of Rev 12 being born to do any thing less than"theworks of his Father"
as Jesus did (John 5:36; 10:37; 14:10 ), whichwas to destroy the works of the devil. I submit that
he fights in the "war inheaven"because we know that "we wrestle, fight, and conflict not against
fleshand blood but against principalities and powers in the heavenlies" --Eph6:12. This "man"
company is born to war in the spirit and to tear downstrongholds. I submit that he is the one that
deals the wound (which ishealed ) to the antichrist system,(Rev 13:2-3).It is after that event that
the devil is "cast down to earth" andpursues the "woman" and makes war with the remnant of her
seed. That is exactlywhatthe antichrist govt does -- Rev 13:1-18). His entire "satanic-driven"purpose isto purge the earth of all Christians.
The woman is given two wings of a great eagle..... :KJV Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the
LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not
be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.The eagle speaks of speed, strength and protection of
God -- Ex 19:4; Dt31:11-12.The woman is give two wings of a great eagle to flee. In Rev 4:7 one
ofthe 4 livingcreatures has the face of a flying eagle. Could that "living creature"be the propellant
force giving speed to the "woman's" flight ?
The woman flies with great speed into the wilderness where she is to be noursished by God. This
is a world wide occurrance, so it speaks moreof a spiritual wilderness rather than a physical
wilderness. She goesundergroundto be protected by "the earth" -- those who will be sympathetic
to herneeds.The underground church in China this day is a forerunner of this event. People do not
have freedom in China to build churches, worship God and manifest hislove and power. They
meet in homes and secret places, and are oftenarrested, jailedand tortured when found out. Some
are even martyred for the gospel'ssake there.The woman will go underground worldwide-- even in
America-- in that day. "Religion", more specifcally, Christianity, will be outlawed. Believers will
be huntedand persecuted -- even by their own families. They will be forced intohiding, butwill be
nourished by God. Remember, the woman wears a victor's crownandis clothed by the sun ( Jesus)
and stands on the moon ( the scripturesreflectingthe light). She is not destroyed by the devil, for
she has lifeeverlasting, if sheendures to the end.She is nourished by God for "time, times, and half
a times". God feedsand nourishes her spiritually ( "man shall not eat by bread alone...")and
probablyphysically as well. She may see the multiplying of fishes, thecontinual flow ofoil from one
jar, as in the day of Elijah, or the turning of water intonourishing wine.She may have manna in the
moring. She is clothed with the sun, God iswith her.She is hid from the face of the serpent for
"time, times and half atimes", or 3.5 years. She continues to raise and feed "the remnant of her
seed". As Godhid his 7,000 prophets in the day of Jezebel, so shall he hide thewoman thatshe
might continue to reach and teach the lost in a very dark world.
Rev 12: 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood afterthe woman, that he might
cause her to be carried away of the flood.
The woman flies with eagles wings ( speed and power of God) into thewildernessand the devil
sends a flood after her. This flood may be the antichristpolice force,it may be apostate
preachers/prophets, it may be NATO, it may beembittered relatives --Mat 24:10-12....... it will
probably be all of theabove. Verse 15 says that he pursues her by a flood that it might "carry
heraway".The word in the Greek is "potamophoretos" and has the idea of drowningher.Their
intent is to kill her, not necessarily by specifically "drowning".It may speakof "carrying her away"
to imprisonment, but with the intent to killanyway.Every known Christian will die in that first 3.5
years -- even the twowitnessesare martyred (Rev 11). The exception to this is the 144,000 Israelis
andthose who they bring into the Gospel of Christ Jesus during the last 3.5 yearsof the Great
Tribulation.
Rev 12: 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up
the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
The flood may speak of legislation, because after the rapture of the"man-child"Christianity will be
outlawed. The earth speaks of the sympathizers inthe worldwho still have no allegiance to the
antichrist. They "swallow up " thefloof of theserpent by hiding and protecting the "woman" in
their homes and hidaways.The devil's persuit and persecution of the woman is thwarted for
3.5years.
KJV Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with
the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
The devil will in that day be angry, furious with the woman, but she isin hiding,being nourished by
God. She may represent the apostles, prophets,Evangelists,pastors and teachers who were
working the ministry but let their oil runlow.When they left to seek more oil, the bridegroom
came, and left thembehind,as the five foolish virgins -- Mt 25:1-12. They went out to "buy" butit
was too late, he had come and gone. They may be as those in the Church of Ephesus who were
busy about theirfather'sbusiness, but lost their first love, (Rev 2L1-7); More succinctly, they
representthe ministers of the Laodecian Church age, whose hearts had
growncomplacent,lukewarm, but do repent and "buy gold tried as by fire",
Rev 3: 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;These things saith the Amen,
the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;15 I know thy works, that thou
art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and
neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and
increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire,
that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of
thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.19 As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the
door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup
with him, and he with me.21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne,
even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.22 He that hath an ear, let
him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Notice that letter was written to "the angel (messenger) of Laodecia", the angelrepresenting all
church leadership and gov't. But it applies to all who"hath an ear".Those who overcome will rule
and reign with Christ (Rev 3:21; 5:8-10)
The devil makes war with the remnant of the woman's seed. Thisrepresentsthose who are found
out, are arrested and killed if they refuse to take"the markof the beast, (Rev 13:1-14; 15:2-4; 17:6
)There shall be some who shall serve the Lord before his throne, and heshallwipe the tears from
their eyes, Rev 7:14-17, 15:2-4; Heb 12:17. They are like the little sister of the shulamite, not
mature formarriage, (S.Sol 8:8), they are like the "virgins without number" :Song of Sol 6: 8
There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number.
Those who do not repent of complacency and lukewarmness, those who donotheed the spirit's call will miss the rapture and be martyred by theantichrist/worldgov't. Rev 6:1-6 & 13:1-14 describes how the devil ( throught theantichrist system)"makes war" on the "remnant of her seed". All who do not accept themark of "the beast" are marked for execution.
