KJV Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

People have a hard time believing this is a future war yet to be fought. They believe and even teach that Satan was cast into hell when he rebelled against God. They see him as the king of hell, the little creature in the red suit with two horns & a pitchfork.

They often point to a reference in 2Peter which says : KJV 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; He has not yet cast them into hell, for they ( including Satan) are "roaming about seeking whom they may devour" ( 1Pet 5:8) You can't be cast into hell yet roaming about "seeking to devour" if you are bound in hell. The phrase "cast into hell" is one word in Greek, "Tartaro-o", and means "to cast into Tartaros". It is written in the "aorist tense", which is without reference to time. It is speaking of an event, one in this case which doesn't happen till after the the 2nd Coming of Christ. Now, they are in chains of darkness, meaning retrobate minds, unable to see the truth. And they have been ( perfect tense) reserved unto judgement. That is an irrevocable reservation for them (Mt 25:41)

But this war in which they are cast out of heaven is yet in the future. The proclamation of verse 10 is yet in the future : "Now is come salvation..... for the accuser of the brethren has been cast down". Never before has that proclamation been heard or recorded. All through the centuries Satan has been the accuser of the brethren "in the heavenlies", at the throne of God.

This war is in conjunction with the man-child being caught away, and with the woman ( church) fleeing into hiding to be norished by God, and with the devil in hot pursuit of the remnant of her seed, for he knows he has but a short time ........ a very important time key ( verse 12).



But he disguises himself as an angel of light (2Cor 11:14) and our warfare with him and his angels is "in the heavenlies" (Eph 6:12 Grk lit ).

They are cast down to earth, having no more access to the throne of God to accuse the brethren. They become the embodiment of the antichrist and world gov't regime. Their reign of terror ( Satan as king) lasts for 7 years until the coming of Christ. Their reign is on the earth, then, not "in the heavenlies", for there will be "no more place still found in heaven for them" at that point in time.
